Fighting Eagles JROTC Drone team make Nationals

The Fighting Eagles drone team achieved an outstanding success in their inaugural year, securing 2nd place at the Rookie Rumble competition, held at Plano East High School in Murphy, Texas, and earning a spot at the National Drone Competition. Competing against 18 other schools in a rigorous event spanning 75 competition cycles, the team demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork. Led by Team Captain John Andrews and Co-Captain/Primary Drone Driver Saameh Rahman, the team also included Lane Coach Alan Mossman, Pit Crew members Abdulwaheed Salawu and Henry Luera, and received invaluable coaching support from 1SG. The competition, organized by JROTC SGM Henry and his team, featured multiple challenges, including teamwork matches, piloting and autonomous skills assessments, and logbook interviews conducted by UTD ROTC. A special shoutout to our dedicated team and the incredible support from our school community—this achievement is just the beginning!
