RHS DECA STATE SUCCESS

deca

Good afternoon RHS & RISD Family,

We wanted to give a update on RHS DECA TEAM and all things DECA. First while most people started their spring break, RHS DECA was competing at STATE DECA. Their was over 7,200 Students from around the State of Texas all competing to represent TEXAS DECA in Orlando, FL in April. RHS DECA took 13 students to State and Advance 4 students to represent Richardson High School & RISD at International Contest in Orlando, FL in April. We also had 4 alternates and several very close scores to advancing. This was our strongest group in my 15 years of being a Advisor. Please congratulate the following students and wish them luck:

Thatcher Bartlett – Professional Selling
Lucy Fisk- Hospitality & Tourism Professional Selling
Kirah Geffert – GOLD SBE Food Operation (Representing our RHS Store The Perch (The Cookies & Chick-fil-a)
Sean Fletcher- GOLD SBE Retail Services (Representing our NEWEST Store The Roost (Which will start a soft opening next FRIDAY)

State Alternates (this is still a big accomplishment with how hard it is to advance in our state)
Logan Zutavern & Gideon Taiwo in Sports & Entertainment Team decision Making
Ilan & Imad Ahmed in International Business Plan

Yes you read that right this is my 15 year as a DECA Advisor and I was honor on stage with my 15 year pin, I was then brought back on stage and recognized for Outstanding Service Award for TEXAS DECA. I am also currently in the running for the TEXAS Business Hall of Fame (hoping to know more by the end of April). But enough about me here is the Highlights from this school years DECA Team.
