As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to share an important calendar reminder for families at Audelia Creek Elementary.
As approved by Richardson ISD’s Board of Trustees in December 2025, and as part of the Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) Additional Days School Year (ADSY) initiative, Audelia Creek students will begin the 2026-2027 school year on Tuesday, August 11, one day earlier than most other Richardson ISD schools.
The Additional Days School Year (ADSY) initiative is supported through funding from TEA and is intended to provide eligible campuses with additional opportunities to support student learning and success.
When Audelia Creek students return on August. 11, they will engage in four hours of instruction from 7:50 to 11:50 a.m.
Additional information as we prepare for the first day of school on August 11:
- Attendance will be taken at 9 a.m.
- Breakfast will be served to all students
- Students who receive lunch at school will get a sack lunch on this day
- Dismissal will be at 11:50 a.m. Please make arrangements to ensure that your child gets picked up at 11:50 a.m.
While it will not be a full day of instruction, the day is designed to help students, families and staff begin building relationships as the school year begins. It will also help students feel excited, confident and prepared for a successful start to the new school year.
Please also SAVE the DATE for our Meet the Teacher and Backpack Bash on Thursday, August 6 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. This will be a great opportunity to connect with our staff and secure school supply kits and backpacks for your students for the new school year.
Please note that the remainder of the academic calendar for Audelia Creek will align with the academic calendar followed by all other RISD schools.
