Dear Richardson Heights Elementary Staff and Community,
I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new principal of Richardson Heights Elementary. I’m incredibly grateful to join this special community and look forward to building meaningful relationships with each of you as we work together to ensure the very best for our students. I deeply respect the strong traditions and outstanding culture that have been built here, and I’m committed to honoring and continuing that legacy of excellence.
I just completed my 11th year in education, and Richardson ISD has always been home for me. I’m a graduate of Lake Highlands High School, and it means so much to give back to the district that helped shape me. Throughout my career, I’ve served as a classroom teacher, Campus Reading Specialist, Instructional Coach, and Assistant Principal, most recently at White Rock Elementary. I’ve also had the privilege of presenting professional learning at educational conferences throughout the country, sharing strategies that spark engagement, rigor, and creativity. I am committed to supporting the delivery of high-quality instruction, building strong relationships, and doing what’s best for kids—every single day.
Outside of school, I am a very proud wife and mom. My husband, Austin, is originally from South Carolina where his family owns the local Piggly Wiggly—if you’re ever in Hilton Head, you might just find us folding t-shirts at the store! Our son, Hayes, is 18 months old and the absolute light of our lives! He keeps us laughing and on our toes all the time. As a parent, I understand the importance of trusting the school that cares for your child. I will always lead with that same care and compassion for each student on our campus.
I believe that every student is capable, every educator is essential, and every day is a chance to lead with heart. It is my priority to champion an environment where everyone feels safe, supported, and celebrated so that we can reach new heights together.
I am so excited to learn from you, build on our strengths, and dream big for our campus. I look forward to hearing your stories, crafting our vision together, and ensuring Richardson Heights remains a place where all students and educators thrive.
Sincerely,
Megan Martin
