Celebrating Super Teachers: Maria Contreras
Eight RISD teachers were surprised and celebrated on Feb. 3 and recognized as RISD Super Teachers for the second grading period in the 2025-26 school year.
RISD Board of Trustees Approves Academic Calendars for 26-27 and 27-28 School Years
During the December board meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the academic calendars for the next two school years.
2025-26 Campus Teachers of the Year
Celebrating the outstanding educators for the 2025-2026 school year, chosen by each school in RISD.
By teaching and reinforcing academic behaviors and higher-level thinking at a young age, AVID Elementary teachers create a ripple effect in later grades. Elementary students develop the academic habits they will need to be successful in middle school, high school, and college, in an age-appropriate and challenging way. Children learn about organization, study skills, communication, and self-advocacy. AVID Elementary students take structured notes and answer and ask high-level questions that go beyond routine answers.
