New Principal Greetings

Hello Richardson West Junior High Families!

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I introduce myself as the new principal at Richardson West Junior High. I am honored to be a part of this wonderful community, which comprises exceptional students, dedicated teachers, and supportive parents. I am enthusiastic about returning to RWJH, where I served as an assistant principal during the 2017-2018 school year. I can’t wait to reunite with the community and cultivate new relationships with students, staff, and the community.

My educational journey started as a teacher and coach in Bryan-College Station 15 years ago. I’ve served in multiple roles as an administrator in RISD for the last 7 years.  After the 2017-2018 year at West, I served as an Assistant Principal at Richardson High School for three years.  During that time I supported the freshmen class, the math department, CTE, the RHS Magnet programs, and many other areas.  Most recently, I was the principal at Moss Haven Elementary in the Lake Highlands Learning Community for three years.

My family and I have lived and raised our kids in Richardson for the past 9 years.  All three of my children currently attend MST in RISD. I went to college at Texas A&M University, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in history and my master’s degree in Instruction and Curriculum Development.

My passion lies in fostering academic growth and building relationships within our school community. I look forward to meeting with the RWJH staff, community, and students to establish strong relationships and work together toward a bright future.

Sincerely,

Jose Vega
