Principal Jose Vega
My educational journey started as a teacher and coach in Bryan-College Station 17 years ago. I’ve served in multiple roles as an administrator in RISD for the last 9 years. After the 2017-2018 year at West, I served as an Assistant Principal at Richardson High School for three years. During that time, I supported the freshmen class, the math department, CTE, the RHS Magnet programs, and many other areas. Most recently, I have been the principal at RWJH for the past two years.
My family and I have lived and raised our kids in Richardson for the past 11 years. All three of my children currently attend MST in RISD. I went to college at Texas A&M University, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in history and my master’s degree in Instruction and Curriculum Development.
My passion lies in fostering academic growth and building relationships within our school community.

Greetings Broncos! I am Tommy Lamberth and I am the Assistant Principal for 8th grade this year at West. It is going to be a great year!
This is my 17th year in education, and my 6th year as an administrator. I have been in RISD my whole career and was a student in RISD growing up. RISD is truly the place to be!
West is a special place and there’s a reason why we say West is Best! I have three children, with my son being an incoming 7th grader, Jacob, at West this year. My daughters Greta and Polly are RISD students as well.
I received my Bachelors from Baylor University and my Masters from Lamar University.
Looking forward to a great year! Go Broncos!

Assistant Principal Willette Armstrong
As a proud product of RISD, I am absolutely thrilled to join the West family as your new Assistant Principal. With 25 years of experience serving the students, families, and—most importantly—the educators in our district, I am incredibly eager to begin building strong, collaborative relationships with each of you.
I come to West after serving as the Assistant Principal at MST Magnet. In that role, I worked hand-in-hand with the campus administrator to drive our vision, leverage data to lift student growth, and manage campus testing operations—always with the goal of supporting teachers and protecting your valuable instructional time. Prior to my time at MST, I served as an Assistant Principal at Richland (2015–2020) and Stults Road (2012–2015) elementary schools.
Before stepping into administration, I spent 11 years right in the classroom. I taught 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades at White Rock from 2001 to 2012. I hold a Master of Education in Educational Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M -Commerce.
I cannot wait to make connections with our staff, students, parents and RWJH community!
