Hello TME Bulldog Family,

I want to officially welcome all of you to the 2023-2024 school year! I am honored to start my 15th year in education with this GREAT school in this amazing community! I am excited to continue the excellence TME has become known for and humbled by the opportunity to be a part of it. I was born in Port Gibson, Mississippi and completed my Bachelor’s of Science Degree at Mississippi State University. I went on to earn a Master’s of Art Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and continue to model everyday learning by pursuing a Doctorate degree from Abilene Christian University. Professionally, I have served at both the elementary and secondary levels. I began my career as a teacher/coach in the Texas Charter system, then taught in Texas Public Schools, served as an instructional coach, Assistant Principal, and Principal.

Whether your family is returning to TME or beginning a new journey, the year ahead will be a new and rewarding experience for your child. A commitment toward creating a GREAT learning experience, understanding, and connecting with each and every child are some of the many reasons Thurgood Marshall Elementary is such a remarkable place for children to grow and learn. As we start this school year, please know that we are here to help and support you and your family. Please reach out at any time, our partnership is essential in the success of each child.

Greetings Bulldog Family!

Welcome to the 2023-24 school year. I am excited to serve as your campus Assistant Principal for the second year. One of the most impressive attributes I have found in our school community is the student-centered culture that exits here. I am so honored to be part of a team that regards learning, growth, culture, diversity, and inclusion so highly.

Outside of work, I am the proud mother of three wonderful children. They are my daily inspiration, along with my love for student growth and achievement. I hold a Master of Public Policy degree with an emphasis in Education Policy from the University of Texas at Dallas as well as, a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs… “WHOOSH!” I obtained Principal Certification in Education Leadership and Administration from Lamar University.

I’ve served in several capacities including 7th grade Administrator in Irving ISD, campus Gifted and Talented liaison, AVID Excel Coordinator, and ELAR honors/regulars, Math, and ESL. I hope to bring a wealth of resources, knowledge, and collaboration to an already phenomenal team and community.

I look forward to being involved in every way possible and serving our students each and every day!

Dear TME Community:

Growing up I was a North Babylon Bulldog.  This small town on Long Island in New York was home until higher education set me on a wonderful journey to new places and experiences.  I attended the University of Delaware, graduated and moved on to The Ohio State University for my Masters.  My family has lived in Ohio, Delaware, and we are now settled in Texas.  I have taught all grade levels from 1st through 12th as a classroom teacher, Reading Specialist, and Math Interventionist.  As a leader I have served as a Behavior Specialist,  ESL Director, Special Education Department Director, and Instructional Coach.  I am honored to have the privilege to use my decades of experience to continue Thurgood Marshall Elementary Bulldog’s legacy of excellence as one of the Assistant Principals.

2023-2024 at TME will be an exciting year of growth for our community.  I look forward to getting to know the students and families that have made TME such a special place.  Student success and safety are my top priorities.  I truly believe every student can learn, and deserves to discover their gifts and talents.  Together we can support every child, every teacher, every leader, every day.
