AVID Night was an engaging event that brought together students, families, and educators to celebrate the successes of the AVID program. A total of 236 parents came to the school to see what their children are learning from AVID. The evening began with a warm welcome, followed by presentations from high school AVID students who shared their experiences and achievements with AVID. These students highlight the skills they’ve developed, such as effective note-taking, critical thinking, organization, and collaborative learning. The atmosphere is filled with excitement as families learn how AVID empowers students to pursue higher education and equips them with the tools necessary for academic success. In addition, students made induction slides. The students made their own slide which includes their name, what they want to be when they grow up, and which college they want to go to. Educational resources and materials are distributed, ensuring families leave with valuable information.
Overall, AVID Night fosters a strong sense of community, reinforcing the program’s commitment to helping students become college-ready and promoting a culture of academic excellence.
