On February 10th and 11th, groups of Westwood students and others from RISD schools attended a Success Session seminar at Southern Methodist University. The seminar taught students about education, compassion, hard work, and the different challenges that they will go through.
What is Compelling Why?
A “compelling why” refers to a powerful and a very emotionally resonant reason or motive that drives someone or a group of people, often used to inspire action and create a sense of purpose.
This seminar helped our students meet and learn from business and community leaders about the ways to succeed. It was designed to introduce students to leadership values, and to help them understand the ways that they would need to meet to get into the career that they dream of. Three women with different career paths helped the students that want to do similar things connect.
