Yale Elementary was proud to welcome visitors from the AVID Center and teachers from across RISD and Plano Independent School District to explore their campus and see AVID in action. Student ambassadors were amazing guides as they walked the halls and observed.
As a Certified AVID Elementary school since 2019, Yale continues to lead with purpose and builds a culture of growth, high achievement, and character for all learners. As they advance through the steps of their AVID Demonstration School journey, Principal Greer shared about impactful practices in student ownership, STEAM immersion, building student agency and leadership, AVID-certified staff, and the collaborative staff and student culture.
Starting as early as Pre-K, AVID strategies and the close partnership with LV Berkner High School STEM Academy students, one of two National AVID Demonstration Schools in RISD, set students off with a strong start.
