Congratulations to our very own Anahi Ruiz for earning Apprentice Teacher of the Year for ALL of RISD! Anahi has been supporting Ms. Schutza’s 4th grade classroom all year. You wouldn’t know that this is her first year in the classroom if you saw her in action! She was chosen for this award out of all the Apprentice Teachers in the entire district!! She was also honored at a recent Board Meeting, and we are honored to have her here at Aikin!

It’s a pumpkin patch in the classroom at Aikin Elementary, where first graders turn review time into a pumpkin hunt! Pumpkins around the room are labeled with nouns, and students then sort them by person, place, thing or proper noun on graphic organizers.
These interactive and collaborative activities help our young learners develop both personal and academic skills as they engage and grow together in #RISDInTheClassroom!
