RWJH Celebrates National AVID Day

Today, RWJH celebrated AVID Day! We joined schools nationwide in recognizing the power of education, the dedication of our teachers, and the resilience of our students. Through our partnership with AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), we’ve seen incredible results—from increased graduation rates to more students enrolling in honors and AP courses. AVID equips students with the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond, including critical thinking, collaboration, and leadership.

We are excited to share that Richardson West Junior High Arts and Technology Magnet is applying and interviewing for AVID National Demonstration School.
This designation is reserved for campuses recognized as exemplary models of AVID implementation, both in the AVID elective and across the entire school. Becoming one requires a rigorous validation process, and schools must undergo re-validation every few years to maintain high standards of fidelity to AVID strategies.
